3rd Thursdays Blog Hop – Christmas In July
So, I have something new to share with all of you today. The 3rd Thursdays Blog Hop group! I was offered the opportunity to join this blog hop. It features Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and our passion for paper crafting. Each 3rd Thursday of the month, they host a blog hop with different crafting themes to play with.
This month it is Christmas in July! Now you may be thinking it’s too early to thinking about holiday cards and projects, but I know many of you, myself included, send lots of holiday greeting cards. And they take time to create. So why not get a jump start on those cards now, and then have more time during the holiday season to enjoy the holidays!
For my project today… I decided to start with tags! Sometimes I find making tags can be as much fun as making full cards. And better yet, often those tags can always be made into a card embellishment later on. So if you have pre-made the tags, you can always make a card you might need later! In the end, I actually did just that , so I could show you what I mean.
Christmas In July – Tags! for 3rd Thursday Blog Hop
Snowman Season Tag
The first tag I have to share today is using the Snowman Season stamp set. I just love the line art in this set, and it’s great for easy stamping! I stamped with Misty Moonlight ink on Seaside Spray cardstock. After die cutting my tag with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Then I added some Pumpkin Pie ink with my BLEND for the nose, and I used the White Chalk Marker to brighten the snowman.
Merry Moose Tag
So you can see I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies again to create the foundation of this tag. Two of the scalloped rectangles, just one size apart. Then with the Merry Moose stamp set and coordinating Moose punch, I stamped with Cider Cinnamon ink on Cider Cinnamon cardstock the moose image. That was simple and easy! Then with Just Jade cardstock, I die cut the bough image from the Beautiful Boughs Dies. I then stamped the sentiment from the Merry Moose set in Just Jade ink.
Now you may be wondering why I am stamping with a retired set? Well, surprise, the Merry Moose set and punch will be returning in this coming Fall Occasions Catalog. So you can start ordering your own in August!
Peaceful Boughs Tag
This tag was created with the Peaceful Boughs stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Boughs dies. The Seaside Spray tag was die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. (I think I really like these…) Then with Just Jade for the bough dies, and Cider Cinnamon for the pine cones, I had my embellishments. I stamped the Season’s Greeting with Cider Cinnamon ink as well. I really like how all the colors came together for this one.
