Feeling Festive with Flowers for Every Season
Okay, so I don’t often purchase or craft with the Memories & More card kits. But, when I was pre-ordering from the annual catalog, the patterned paper or designer series paper (DSP) for the Flowers For Every Season, was not available! So I purchased a package of the M&M Flowers for Every Season cards instead. And I have to say, I am very pleased with them.
Today’s card will follow the Mystery CASE challenge for this week. If you need to see the clues you can find them on yesterday’s post. Mystery CASE July 20, where I shared this project.
Feeling Festive with Flowers for Every Season Project Details
So as you can see from the image above I paired the Flowers for Every Season with two stamp sets. Peaceful Boughs and Forever Blossoms! You might think these two sets would not be very well matched, but I gonna surprise you…
Follow the Mystery Clues
The Mystery Clues tell us to use two panels that are 2 x 5 1/4 inches long. So from the Misty Moonlight 4 x 6 card panel from the Flowers for Every Season card pack, I cut my card stock as shown above. I was able to get two vertical panels, and one small 3/4 inch ribbon from the bottom. This will be used on the inside.
The second 2 x 5 1/4 inch panel will be a Misty Moonlight cardstock panel, that I decide to dry emboss with the Old World embossing folder. As you can see, I die cut the two small flowers from it first.
These two panels get lined up side-by-side to fill the front panel of our Whisper White card base. The final photo above, shows the pieces used to construct the card.
Feeling Festive – Die Cut Flowers & Stamped Images
Working with the images in the Memories & More card panels, I wanted to add die cut flowers to the smaller card. The Cherry Blossom Dies that coordinate with Forever Blooms stamp set, worked out great. I was able to die cut two layers of flowers in two blues of the card panels. Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray.
I then add flowers images from the Forever Blossoms stamp set to my envelope to tie all the images together, and so I would not have a naked envelope!
Okay, I also used the Sprig Punch and some Cinnamon Cider cardstock to add a couple of sprig images to the flowers as well. That ties right into the image on the Feeling Festive panel from the Memories & More card kit.
Holiday Themed Sentiment
For the inside of the card, I used the Season’s Greetings sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs stamp set. If you look back at yesterday’s card, I used this set then. So it was on my stamp table. Of course, you could any sentiment of your choosing, but I liked this one for today.
