Hello with Good Morning Magnolia CTS390 | #MCC21
It seems as though this weekly project shares are all ending up as double CASE cards. That is it fits the #MCC21 Challenge and also another sketch challenge!
This card features the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, and it’s very large Magnolia Bloom as it’s primary focus. It was originally crafted to play along with a blog challenge offered by CASE This SKETCH blog. You can link direct to their blog through the sketch.
Hello with Good Morning Magnolia
FOCAL IMAGE – So I wanted to create a large focal image to match the sketch idea. I choose to use the large Magnolia blossom with the coordinating die-cut. I stamped with Memento Black ink and then added shading with my BLEND markers.
WHERE TO START – I started with a piece of cardstock that was 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 of Blushing Bride. This is the same size as the front of our standard card. I stamped the image in the position I wanted it on the final card project.
SENTIMENT BANNER – After I stamped, colored and die-cut the large blossom, I used the scrap frame of the at image to cut a sentiment panel. In doing this, I am able to piece the flower die and the sentiment banner back together.
FRAMING & ACTIVE EDGES – To add a bit of framing, I backed the Blushing Bride sentiment banner with Basic Black. But layered it behind the stem of the blossom. So we have active edges with our elements.
MOUNTED LAYERS – Usually I would pop the main image up on dimensionals and have the other layers adhered flat to the card face. Instead, this time, I lifted the sentiment banner and let the large blossom lay flat instead!
