A quick card – some stampin’ therapy!
Confession… I don’t think I have actually stamped a card for, well over a month! Time in my Stamp Room has just gotten away from me, as I am spending many hours working with Henry on school at home. But I really needed some stampin’ therapy today. So I pulled together this quick card.
I really loved the image of this rose in the Paper Pumpkin Set from April – Sentimental Rose. So that was easy for me to pick up and use. Then I looked at the colors used in the Paper Pumpkin kit, and decided to pair some of the embellishments in my April kit with supplies in my stamp room.
To start I stamped the rose with Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White cardstock, twice. I used my paper snips to fussy cut both out, one full rose and one scaled down rose for the center. I added a dimensional between the two to make a 3-D flower for my focal point.
Then from kit prepared elements…
I stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink the sentiment onto the label. I stamped the rose three times on the Whisper White panel that has some sponged looking background on it with green, pink and yellow. I did stamp off the image first, so this would be slightly less bold on the card.
I decided I wanted to add some background stamping to the face of my card base. So with Soft Sea Foam ink on a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock, I stamped the leaf image multiple times. I also stamped two images of the leaf on scrap paper and cut them out with my paper snips to add to the 3-D rose.
Putting it all together:
When I got ready to layer up all the elements. I wanted a bit of a border around the Whisper White panel running down the center of the card. So instead of cutting more cardstock, I used ink! I just gently pressed the edges of this panel in the ink pad and added some simple shading. I add just a hint of color.
So, now I was ready to assemble my card. I added some epoxy colored dots from the embellishments in the kit to add just a bit of bling!
