Thank You with Peaceful Moments
Today I am sharing this poppy themed card. For this project I let the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper do all the work for me. Some simple panels cut and layered together, definitely a #simplestamping project. It came together clean and simple.
The sketch was offered up by the Case This Sketch Challenge Blog. You can link to their blog challenge here with this link or on the image below that shows the sketch.
CASE – Copy And Selectively Edit! This sketch was fairly simple to play along with. Everything is nice and squared off so to speak; each piece is offset just a little from the one below it. However, having to make it my own a little bit, I popped by die cut poppy to the top layer and overlapped it on the sentiment panel.
How did I get that poppy image to be so colorful? Well I die cut the large full poppy image from a selection of the Peaceful Poppies DSP. Then over-laid a black die cut detailed poppy. With our DSP all the colors coordinate, I there was no trouble getting it all to work together.
Why does my square die cut panel look rectangular? Well, the sketch called for the sentiment to be over square panel. But when I cut all my pieces and layered them, my sentiment cover the bottom completely. So what did I do. I cut the stitched shape square about 1/4 inch from the edge. Then as I put the project together I pieced the two parts on the face of the card, and used the Poppy Parade cardstock to cover the gap.
