Timeless Tulips Swap Cards
We have two spring time cards to take a look at and share today. Both are swap cards I received through my team of demonstrators. And both feature the Timeless Tulips stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalog.
I decided to share these two card together, because I thought they were a great pairing to show how one stamp set can make simple and easy cards for you. Or if you choose to step them up with layers and embellishments, you can transform a simple card into a stepped-up card.
Card 1 by Amy Nelson
Here we have a simple Whisper White card. Amy has stamped the stems and leaves direct to the face of the card front, and also the sentiment. She stamped and punched out the tulip flowers and added them with dimensionals to the card. I like how there are also three colored rhinestones on the corners of the card. It adds an element of framing the image.
I love one layer cards with just a hint of dimension. This is a perfect example of a dressed-up but simple card project.
Card 2 by Kim McClosky
Now for this second card, Kim has added layers to the card. The base cardstock is Rococo Rose, as are the stamped tulips. A layer of Whisper White that has been embossed with the Subtles folder has been added to the front of the card. Then a die cut square has been added to bring your attention to the focal point. A great way to spotlight images with a basic frame.
The stems were stamped on to the square die cut frame, while the flowers and leaves were stamped and punched out with the coordinating punch. Then added with dimensionals and basic pearls added to balance out the image as well. The braided linen thread bow adds a lovely texture element to the card. Then the sentiment is stamped, punched out and added below.
This is still a simple enough design to CASE… but it takes much more preparation of elements. CASE – Copy And Selectively Edit.
Whether you are a beginner stamper or an avid stamper, we can all appreciate the lovely work of these demos. Try something new you see, that’s how we all improve our skills and figure out what appeals to us individually.
